Boost your brainpower at the library

In 2025, University of Illinois Extension is launching a monthly program at the Eureka Public Library aimed at supporting brain health and social connection among older adults.
The Wits Workout series, developed by University of Illinois Extension specialists, combines fun, research-based brain games with lively group interaction to help keep minds active and engaged.
Each session will be led by Sara Attig, Family Life Educator, who will guide participants through a variety of stimulating mental exercises designed to enhance memory, reasoning, and focus. The program draws on scientific evidence linking cognitive activity and social engagement to long-term brain health.
This free program is open to adults of all ages who are interested in maintaining mental sharpness and enjoying a supportive, community-oriented atmosphere. No prior experience is necessary, and participants are welcome to attend one session or join throughout the year.
Sessions will be held monthly from 1 to 2:30 PM on Wednesdays at the Eureka Public Library at 202 S Main S. in Eureka, Illinois, on the following dates:
May 21, 2025June 18, 2025July 9, 2025August 13, 2025September 10, 2025October 8, 2025November 12, 2025December 10, 2025
There is no registration required to attend this program series.
