Iron Cave Golf is moving to a new location at The Finish Line Bar in downtown Chenoa.
Bobbie and Brian Ludwig presented their TIF District application Tuesday evening to the Chenoa City Council to assist with the rebuild of their Indoor Golf Simulator business.
Â
The council approved streets commissioner Zach Lopeman's request to utilize Hotel Occupancy Tax Funds to contract a street sweeper to clean up curbed roads in the downtown Chenoa area to prepare for Chenoa's Rte 66 Centennial Celebration, Cruisin through the Century on Saturday June 6 in downtown Chenoa. The clean up will also assist in Chenoa's Zip Code Day on 6-17-26 plus Chenoa's epic 4th of July celebration.
Â
City Engineer Kevin Hanlen presented a competitive grant opportunity to the council to consider applying for concerning upgrades to Chenoa's dated water supply system. Phase 1 and 2 are already in the works with Phase 3 on the horizon. This competitive grant would help fund much needed upgrade to the city's water system.Â
Â
Chief Travis Cornwall followed up with a previous council request for funding to purchase the AXON system utilized by 6 rural communities in the area, Bloomington Police Dept. and McLean County Sheriff's Dept.
Chenoa has had an opportunity to test the system with a trial run and Chief Cornwall says it is a huge time saver for him and his department. It has software for body cams, dash cams and multiple other functions like a translation feature. In addition, there is a feature that is used for redacted videos, which Cornwall says has saved up to 90% of his and officer's time.Â
