Eureka baseball defeats PC

Eureka defeated Prairie Central 11-5 on Tuesday in varsity baseball action after scoring seven runs in the fifth inning.
Ben Lapp singled in the second inning, putting Eureka on the board, scoring a run. PC then took the lead in the third but Eureka scored seven runs on three hits in the fifth to make the leader 8-2. Cohen Alstat had a home run to right field that drove in three.
PC’s Will Skala hit a solo homer to left field in the bottom of the seventh while Collin Hartman doubled, scoring a run, and Lucas Steidinger grounded out scoring a run. This made the score 11-5.
Earning the win for Eureka was pitcher Brody Wertz who allowed five hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three and walking three.
