Firearm arrests made in Bloomington

Bloomington Police have announced two firearm-related arrests.
Byron Gardner Jr., 30, of Bloomington and Jovon C. Sneed, 19, of Joliet were taken to the McLean County Detention Facility and had initial court appearances this week.
Police were dispatched to a business in the 1500 block of South Main Street last Sunday for a report of a subject seen with a handgun in his waistband. When officers arrived, a male subject ran away and police later took him into custody. A loaded handgun equipped with an illegal conversion device was located.
Authorities learned a second subject had been seen in possession of one of the firearms earlier in the evening.
Gardner was arrested for unlawful use of weapons, machine gun, automatic weapon; possession of a weapon by a person convicted of a forcible felony and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon/vehicle previous conviction.
Sneed was arrested for unlawful use of weapons, machine gun, automatic weapon and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon.
The incident remains under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department.
