Man accused of traveling to meet minor

A 45-year-old Benson man was arrested Monday after police say he traveled to the El Paso area to meet a minor he met online and believed to be 15.

Ottis D. Harrell was charged with one count of indecent solicitation of a child, indecent solicitation of a child using the Internet, traveling to meet a minor and grooming.

The arrest was conducted by members of the Woodford County Pro-Active Unit Predator Team which focuses on crimes against children.

Harrell was being held in the Woodford County Jail awaiting his first appearance before a judge to determine if he qualifies for detention under the Pretrial Fairness Act.
