Obituary: McCarty

Jean D. McCarty, 91, of Chatsworth, passed away at 7:06 pm, Friday, November 7, 2025 at The Arc in El Paso.

Miss McCarty was born on April 9, 1934, in Chatsworth a daughter to George and Ella (White) McCarty.  Her parents, four brothers, Clementh, Deururd, Gerald and David McCarty; two sisters, Zeta Green and Arty Lustfeldt all preceded her in death.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Jean was a graduate of Chatsworth twp. High School.  She enjoyed music and fun with her family and friends.  She could usually be found at the Chatsworth American Legion or anywhere in the area that had live music playing.  The Fairbury Fair is an annual event and Jean would look forward to the entertainment night; it seemed to be a highlight of the summer growing up in the area.  

She loved her family and never missed an opportunity to be involved and spend time with her nieces and nephews. 

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a graveside inurnment at 11:30 am, Saturday, November 15, 2025 in Chatsworth twp. Cemetery, Chatsworth.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
