Rose Orendorff of Colfax Illinois passed away on December 3, 2025 in Gilbert, AZ at the age of 100.


Rose was born and raised in Anchor, Illinois.  She was the daughter of Edward and Jessie (Reinhart) Meiners.  She was one of 5 siblings: Peter, Elmo, John, Rose and Norma.  She graduated from Anchor High School.  She married Kenneth Dale Orendorff April 9,1944 in the chapel at Moody Field Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia. They moved to Colfax, Illinois where they lived from 1950 to 2013. She is survived by two sons Thomas (Laurie, Kenosha, WI), Phillip (Donna, Chandler, AZ), 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was a member of the Colfax Christian Church where she taught Sunday school.  After earning her Bachelors and Masters teaching degrees from Illinois State University she taught school at Cooksville and Colfax Elementary for 20 years retiring in 1983.  In 2013, Rose and Dale moved to Chandler and later to Gilbert Arizona.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth (Dale), her parents, brothers and sister.


There will be a celebration of life in January for the staff, residents, family and friends at Clearwater Agritopia Senior Living in Gilbert AZ.

 

Next spring or early summer, another celebration of life will be held in Illinois along with internment at the Blooming Grove Cemetery, Bloomington, IL.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax is handling arrangements.
