Obituary: Schilz

Brian Schilz, 68, of Piper City, passed away at 4:20 am, October 10, 2025, at Gilman Healthcare.

Cremation has been accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date with burial in Chatsworth/Charlotte Cemetery.

Brian was born February 13, 1957, in Paxton, the son of Ronald and Janice (Gillett) Schilz. 

Surviving are his mother, Janice Jensen of Piper City; sons, Brandon Schilz of AZ and Kevin Swiger of OR; daughter, Katie Barett of MO; several grandchildren and brother, Karl Schilz of Albuquerque, NM. 

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Kevin Schilz.

Brian was an interior and exterior painter. He enjoyed fishing and had a love for wolves.
