Obituary: Woodrey

Raymond Paul Woodrey, 71, of Morton, passed away at 8:42 pm, February 27, 2026, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.


Cremation has been accorded.


A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Colfax United Methodist Church, Event Center. A reception will follow from 3-5:00 pm on Saturday also at the event center.


Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.


Raymond was born December 18,1954, in Bloomington, the son of Raymond and Phyllis (Hawthorne) Woodrey.


Surviving are his wife Kathy Barry of Morton; children, Jason (Amanda) Woodrey of Chenoa, Janice (Eddy) Cabuyaban of Liberty, MO, Jared (Alessa) Woodrey of Austin, TX, Shannen (Dylan Colley) Woodrey of Columbia, MO, and Jaime (Joe) Springer of Morton; grandchildren, Jacob (Sydney) Woodrey, Joshua (Elaina) Woodrey, Jenna Woodrey, Julianne Woodrey, Jeremiah, Malia, and Fatih Cabuyaban, Lorenzo, Donatella, and Sebastian Woodrey, Deacon Colley, Madeline (Gabe Pleasants) Glover, Alyvia Springer, and Brooks Springer; siblings, Evelyn (Jr)Brown of Mansfield, Betty Steinlicht of Bloomington, Lois (Mark) Billings of Tulsa, OK, and Jim Woodrey of Gibson City.


He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eddie Woodrey.


Raymond was currently working for Raven Industries as a sales representative in software application for soils amendments.


Raymond enjoyed golf, playing pick up basketball, traveling with Kathy to Galena and the horse races in Kentucky.


His love was centered around supporting and being ever present in his children and grandchildren’s lives. He had a strong passion for watching his kids and grandkids play sports. Raymond loved people and never met a stranger. He showed a genuine kindness to everyone with a true servant’s heart.
