State Police are investigating the shooting of two officers in Gibson City early Saturday morning.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m., officers from Gibson City and Ford County responded to a report of a naked man walking outside in the 100 block of Ash Street. The man was identified as David Jordan, 70, of Gibson City. Officers were reportedly met with gunfire when attempting to make contact with Jordan at his residence.

A Gibson City Police Department officer and Ford County Sheriff’s Deputy were struck by gunfire and transported to local hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries. The house caught fire shortly after the shooting.

As of Saturday afternoon, the whereabouts of Jordan were unknown as he was last seen unclothed and is considered to be armed and dangerous, according to police. Authorities say to call 911 if you see Jordan and any information on his whereabouts should be relayed to Gibson City Police at 217-784-8666.

The investigation is ongoing.
