Debra (Debi) Ores appears to be the winner in the Republican race for Livingston County Clerk and Recorder.
Based on unofficial results announced late Tuesday night, Ores received 2,375 votes in Tuesday’s Primary compared to 1,627 votes for Gail D. Smythe. Ores received 59.3 percent of the vote.
In the Republican race for District 1 of the Livingston County Board, the three winners were John (Jack) L. Vietti, Jeffrey G. Hamilton and William Mays. They defeat David Rice.
Livingston County’s school questions passed. That includes the county expansion of school sales tax which was approved with 3,354 yes votes to 2,023 no. The Cornell Community Consolidated School District 426 debt service extension proposition passed narrowly 174 to 147.
According to the Livingston County Clerk’s office, voter turnout in the county was 24.9 percent with all 46 precincts reporting. Of 22,538 total voters, 5,609 ballots were cast.
