Heat-related calls at band event

The Pontiac Fire Department responded to a series of medical calls Saturday night at the Pontiac Indian Showdown marching band competition, where multiple minors required medical evaluation for heat-related concerns.
Officials report three individuals were transported to OSF St. James - John W. Albrecht Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment, while 14 others were assessed and cleared without the need for transport.
“Fortunately, all patients are stable,” said a news release from the Pontiac Fire Department.
