Juveniles arrested on firearm charges

Bloomington Police have announced the arrest of two juveniles while in possession of handguns.
According to police, a wanted juvenile was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of a loaded handgun. BPD’s Street Crimes Unit and K9 were investigating the 17-year-old, who had an active McLean County warrant. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by the juvenile in the 700 block of West College Avenue in Normal.
A second juvenile occupant of the vehicle was found to be in possession of cannabis. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a second loaded handgun.
Both were arrested and transported to the McLean County Juvenile Detention Center.
