Minutemen place fourth at state

Congratulations to the Lexington Minutemen baseball team which placed fourth in the state 1A tournament over the weekend.

The Minutemen were defeated by the Pawnee Indians 9-4, though Lexington jumped out ahead and led for about half of the game before Pawnee found their feet under them and pulled away.

Lexington received its fourth-place trophy following the game Saturday.

Local fans lined the streets to show support with a firetruck escort followed by a recognition ceremony at Lexington High School.
