More details on fatal motorcycle wreck

The McLean County Coroner has released more on a traffic crash involving a motorcycle and sport utility vehicle in Bloomington Jan. 7.
Matthew Moritz, 40, of Bloomington was pronounced dead in the emergency room of OSF St. Joseph Medical Center. Officials say Moritz died from multiple blunt force injuries due to the collision and he was the driver and sole occupant of the motorcycle. Toxicology tests are pending.
Bloomington Police officers responded to the scene at East Oakland Avenue and Old Farm Road and firefighters were also dispatched. An off-duty police officer and another passerby rendered aid to Moritz until officers arrived. The driver of the other vehicle did not sustain life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the Bloomington Police Department, McLean County Accident Reconstruction Team and McLean County Coroner’s Office.
