Lois M. Krones, 88 of Chenoa, passed away at 6:33pm, Saturday, September 13, 2025 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am, Friday, September 19, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Chenoa with Fr. Bill Keebler presiding. Burial will follow the funeral in Calvary Cemetery, rural Chenoa.
Visitation will be held from 4:00–7:00pm, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. A second visitation will be held from 10:00–10:45am the morning of the funeral at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Chenoa Food Pantry.
Lois was born on October 4, 1936, in Milks Grove, IL; a daughter to Russell and Helen (Tholen) Lambert. She married Thomas “Tom” Krones on November 26, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilman, IL. Her husband, Tom preceded her in death September 14, 2019. Her parents, one brother, Butch Lambert; one sister, Barb Coyne and numerous in laws also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Joseph (Dawn Handzus) Krones of Bloomington, IL, Kevin (Lisa) Krones of Gridley, IL, Mark (Kathleen) Krones of Carterville, IL, and Julie Krones of Chenoa, IL; seven sisters, Betty Krones of Oklahoma; Marcella “Sal” Krones of Kansas; Shirley Langellier of Illinois; Carol (John) Hanlon of Illinois; Sandy (Kenny) Curtis of Kentucky; Sharon (Dave) Wilson of Arizona; Linda Lambert-Hensen of Arizona; ; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
