Don “Robby” Robertson Ligon, 40, Chatsworth, died at 9:19 am Thursday, November 13, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.


A memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 21, 2025 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  The family has requested that memorials be directed to the Don Robertson Ligon Memorial Fund for his children’s education or the United Way.

Robby was born January 23, 1985 in McAllen, TX the son of Charles William and Michelle Tarbell Ligon.  


Survivors include his mother, Michelle Ligon, Georgetown, KY, fiancée, Brie Bybee, Chatsworth, IL, two children, Colton and Amya Ligon, siblings, Christopher Ligon, Bastrop, TX, Lara (Jason) Ramsey, Manchaca, TX, and Tad (Lili) Ligon, Elizabethtown, KY.

He is preceded in death by his father.


Robby was employed as a machinist at Caterpillar Inc, Pontiac, and a member of the UAW.

Robby's quick wit and natural ability to make others laugh made him a treasured presence in every life he touched. Above all, he was a dedicated and loving family man; his roles as a father were his proudest achievements. His generosity extended far and wide, touching the lives of many, both two-legged and four-legged. He leaves behind a quirky and beloved pack of pets who enriched his life: his cherished canine companion, Bernie, and his cats: Or.e.o Speedwagon, Groot, and Stinkerbell. Robby was also engaged to be married in the summer of 2026 to his loving fiancée, Brie Bybee. He will be profoundly missed, and his legacy of love, humor, and kindness will live on through his family.
