Obituary: Lucus

Jeffery Jay Lucus, 67, of Blackstone passed away at 5:00 pm, on Friday, February 6, 2026 at his residence in Blackstone.

Cremation rites have been accorded with a visitation from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 28th, 2026 at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa. A private family graveside service will follow the visitation in Chenoa Township Cemetery, Chenoa. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family of Jeffery J. Lucus.

Mr. Lucus was born September 1, 1958 in Streator; the son of Lawrence and Carolyn (Mowers) Lucus.  He married Brenda Mason on August 3, 1991 in Chenoa.  His wife, Brenda passed away on February 22, 2025.  His parents and one brother in-law, Delmer Marcum also preceded him in death.

Survivors include one son, Brandon (Jenni) Mason of Lexington; a very special granddaughter, Jazmyn Mason of Lexington; one brother, Marion (Heidi) Lucus of Rimschweiler, Germany; two sisters, Cindy (William) Pfalzgraf of Peru; and Elizabeth Marcum of Lebanon, MO.

Jeff served our country in the United States Air Force from 1976 – 1980.  He was later employed at Johnson Press and Caterpillar both in Pontiac.
