Sale of property discussed in Chenoa

During a quick Chenoa City Council meeting Tuesday, the group discussed the sale of city property.

This includes an area behind TNT Cycles.

“There is a well on that property,” explained Commissioner Jay Bell.

According to Bell, the EPA would prefer the well be abandoned which would be expensive. If it is sold, the well can be used.

“We originally kept (the property) for the fire department to use for fires,” noted Mayor David Shane.

“This could get involved,” admitted City Attorney Steve Mann.

Commissioner Zack Lopeman referred to two other lots the city is looking at selling. This includes a parking lot area by the old Starting Line business and an unimproved street which was never paved.

During commissioner comments, Lopeman said his guys have been working on equipment, picking up brush and chipping roads.

Council members approved regular meeting minutes from July 14 and the bills.

The group then entered into executive session though no action was taken.
