Some local lane closures will remain in place during this Memorial Day holiday weekend due to ongoing construction.

IDOT says the public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through these areas. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limit, refrain from using mobile devices and stay alert for workers and equipment.

“At all times, please buckle and drive sober,” said a news release from IDOT.

Those work areas with lane closures in effect include:

U.S. 24 two miles west of Chenoa with lane reductions and traffic controlled by temporary signals.

Illinois Route 9 east of I-55/I-74 in Bloomington with lane reductions continuing.

Westbound I-74 ramp at I-55, exit 163 closed.

Market Street at Bloomington between Hinshaw Avenue and Truckers Lane with lane closures continuing at U.S. 150 and Illinois Route 9.

I-55 between Dwight and Odell with uneven lanes.

Illinois Route 116 east of Flanagan, lane reductions continuing.

I-55 at the Illinois Route 116 interchange in Pontiac with lane reductions.

I-57 over County Highway 9 near Buckley in Iroquois County with lane reductions.
