Semi overturns near Minonk

A semi hauling a flatbed trailer flipped onto its side Monday morning on Interstate 39 near Minonk.

Woodford County Sheriff’s Police say the semi, which was hauling a flatbed trailer, rear-ended a car parked on the shoulder of the road. The semi exited the interstate and ended up in a nearby field.

Police say the car was unoccupied at the time of the crash. The driver and sole occupant of the semi was taken to St. James Medical Center in Pontiac for injuries.

Northbound lanes of I-39 were restricted to one lane during the investigation and cleanup.
